New Blog
I don't know if there are any old friends of Mockingbird Lane out there in LiveJournalLand that still do all this, so if you're out there... hopefully this shows up in your feed.

M.L. has been disbanded for a while now, but I still record and perform. I even still do stuff with Blizz. (Stop by and check out the video for "Fear The Dead") I got a new blog out you can check up on to get filled in. Check it out here: http://HardcoreOkieBoy.blogspot.com

Hope to see you around.

New Group
  I know I never use this LJ anymore... but I started a new group.

So go and join the group now. Right now I mainly use it to list my product I got for sale. It's good to use as links from MySpace and such. But I might do more with it later. It looks lonely though with no one on the friends list.

 A lot has happened in the past few years and there has been little contact from me to most of you. A few things have happened in my life making it difficult to do music. I'm changing that. Look forward to a lot more coming from me in the next year. My house was robbed and I lost a lot of my music, but I am finding more of it all the time as I clean and search through old files. Look forward to several releases including a disc of old acoustic demos and a disc that will collect all the songs released on different compilations, plus a few bonus tracks. I also hope to start recording a solo cd soon of my acoustic country/folk/punk thing. So look forward to that. I had a small chapbook of poetry, lyrics and photos ready, but my old computer died... I hope to find a way to recover the files and get that released too. It may be through a friends indy book press or through Zombierot... as of yet un-decided. My wounds have healed and I have been playing guitar everyday for the past month. I will be moving soon and hope to meet new people to put together a live line-up for the band as well as maybe joining some other projects. I'll keep everyone updated on all of this as it happens as well. Basically I just wanted to let everyone know... I may have been down, but I'm not out. You will be seeing some things out this year. Stay tuned.

Check out the Mockingbird Lane forums... Just got up and running again. Everyone needs to join and get to posting.

As far as this site goes... I don't plan on using it anymore. All updates will either be on the forum or the MySpace site, so make sure to join up on those.

Shawnee celebrates with 'Boo on Bell Street'

On Saturday, Downtown Shawnee will celebrate Boo on Bell Street at various downtown locations.

The downtown area will transform into an old-fashioned fall carnival. Children and adults will be treated to activities such as Trick-or-Treat Main Street, hayrides, Spirit Walk of Shawnee, Snoopy's Dog Fest, Monster Mash Costume Contest, and the Farmer's Market Twilight Zone Carnival.

Bell Street will be shut down and events have been planned along the street.

Hayrides will be offered to shuttle people from one end of Bell to the other. Performing on center stage will be fiddler Shanda McDonald, who has played in Branson.

At the carnival, several game booths are planned, including "Poison Apple Pick" and "Boo Bounce." Food booths will offer Indian tacos, barbecue, hot chocolate, cotton candy and more.

T-shirts and Family Ticket Packs are for sale at Uncommon Threads. They also will be sold at a booth on Saturday.

Following is the schedule of events:

* 11 a.m. -- Snoopy's Dog Fest beginning at the Municipal Auditorium

* 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. -- Trick or Treat Main Street

* 5 p.m. -- Monster Mash Costume Contest for children and adults at the Farmers' Market

Gothic Beauty Review

 This is the review from Gothic Beauty Magazine Issue 17 Summer 2005 by Sonya Brown.

The Harder, The Better: V8

Turkey Vulture

Ouch. If the cover doesn't make you squirm, then what about a little Martyrdom, Apathy, Irritant, Detox, Lugosi's Morphine, and D.R.I.? Turkey Vulture Records didn't make the The Harder, The Better Series to give you the warm fuzzies. Volume Eight brings us 27 of the most extreme heavy hitters ready to assault your eardrums. Mega thanks go out to Mockingbird Lane for sending me the disc, who have a very cool track entitled "Dead Girls Don't Say No (Live)" featured. Brutal music to be enjoyed at maximum volume... just don't say I didn't warn you. Availiable from TurkeyVultureRecords.com (Sonya)
